Wildflower Cafe

This popular Talkeetna dining spot serves a delicious Pub Menu, Soups and Salads, and fabulous dinners from the grill. Enjoy your meal inside the cafe or outside on the big deck where you can observe Downtown Talkeetna's rustic atmosphere. The experienced Chef, who also happens to be a former Iditarod musher, will spoil your taste buds with his food creations. This is a favorite of Talkeetna Travel employees!

 

Flying Squirrel Bakery and Cafe
Brand new in 2009!

The Flying Squirrel is the dream of Anita Golton, who's well-known by Talkeetna locals for her delicious foods and baked goods. This new gourmet bakery and cafe sports a Talkeetna-crafted wood-fired oven. It is located on the Talkeetna Spur Road at Mile 11, just 3 miles out of downtown. The Flying Squirrel is also right on the bike trail, making it a great destination by self-powered means. Worth pedaling for! Talkeetna Roadhouse

The Roadhouse, built in 1917 by brothers Frank and Ed Lee, was primarily used as a staging house for supplies heading out to gold miners in the nearby hills. Today they operate a bakery and cafe as well as eight guest rooms with various configurations including a Bunk Room. Famous for a hearty breakfast, homemade soups and the worlds best cinnamon rolls.

 

Denali Fairview Inn

Built in 1923, this historic building offers nightly music, dancing and a bar full of characters. Open year-round with a full bar and beer garden/tent in the summer.

 

Mountain High Pizza Pie

Located in a renovated historic building, Mountain High Pizza Pie will bring you to peaks almost as high as Mt. McKinley...need we say more? Pizza's, salads, sandwiches and more, including pizza chef Todd Basilone's famous original Perogie Pizza!

 

The TeePee

Pam and Al run this Talkeetna landmark.  The TeePee is an unusual double A-framed building, reputedly housing the town's  flattest pool table in the bar!  It's off the main drag, (around the corner at the end of Main Street) and worth a visit if you'd like to have a few drinks in a place with character and history.  Keep your eyes open for the re-opening of the restaurant... Pam cooks a great breakfast!

West Rib Pub

Named after the West Rib, the first of the South-Face routes forged to the summit of Denali, this restaurant/pub has outdoor dining with burgers (including caribou and buffalo), sandwiches, salads and cold tap beer. A summer special is Burger and Brew on Friday evenings.
